Background

Human Embryology is an important component of anatomical studies in Medicine and other health professional education. Knowledge of Human Embryology is essential in studying congenital abnormalities and defects,Human Embryology involves a continuous change in shape, size, configuration and relative position of organs of the body, with some changes being very complicated. Most tools available for the study of embryology use images or models of the body at different stages of development. The more complicated changes are not easily appreciated with the stationary images.A system that shows continuous changes would help students understand Human Embryology and the consequences of abnormalities in development (congenital abnormalities) better.

Objective

  • A web based programme and or app to demonstrate continuous changes in organs of the body during foetal life and also consequences of abnormalities in these changes.
